Leadership
Parent Leadership Involvement
Pack 318 considers the parents to be a part of our pack. The success of this group relies largely on parent involvement! We will ask every parent to help in some capacity either as a formal leader or in an unofficial role. Registered leader positions require online training through the BSA website. Per National BSA Guidelines, all Scout gatherings are required to have at least 2 trained leaders (i.e. "2 Deep Leadership").
Listed below are the formal leadership positions. If there is an open position, see the "Help Needed" tab to learn what that position entails so you can decide if that is something you are willing to do for the better of the pack. Being a leader is both rewarding and sets a great example for your child!

Other Parent Involvement (Unofficial Roles)
Parents play an important role in the Pack even if they do not have a formal leadership position. There will be sign-ups at Pack meetings as needed to help fill all of the minor jobs required to keep the Pack going strong! Picking up and dropping off supplies, setting up tables, chairs, and decorations for events, tearing down after events, bringing and overseeing activities, coordinating snacks and food when needed, and helping with the many tasks required for camp outs are just a few examples. Please keep in mind that if certain jobs are not filled, that does not mean that current leaders will fill them. It just means that event will not happen.
All parents/adults that attend Pack events are required to take Youth Protection Training which is available anytime online at http://my.scouting.org. Not only does it make you ready to help out when needed, it also helps you fully understand the policies and practices the Boys Scout of America has implemented to protect our youth.
